If we live long enough, we all will walk the perimenopause path, a journey that is challenging and transformative. Perimenopause, often referred to as the transitional phase before menopause, typically begins in a woman’s 40s but can start earlier. It’s the 10 (ish) years leading up to menopause, during which a woman’s body undergoes significant hormonal changes. These changes can bring about a variety of symptoms such as irregular periods, hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. Despite its prevalence, there remains a gap in education and open discussion about this dynamic period in a woman’s life.
My mission is to bridge this gap by sharing valuable information about what women experience during perimenopause. I believe that understanding this phase is crucial for women to navigate it with confidence and ease. Having worked with many women going through this transition, I’ve seen firsthand their confusion and desperation as they try to understand the changes happening in their bodies. Many women are left feeling isolated and overwhelmed due to a lack of accessible information and support.
Through my own experiences and interactions with other women, and my training as a Naturopathic doctor, I have gathered insights and practical advice that I am eager to share. My goal is to offer tips and suggestions to help make this transition as smooth as possible. Strategies include maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, prioritizing mental health through mindfulness or therapy, and seeking medical advice. As your naturopathic doctor, I’m here to help!
I invite you to join me on this journey of learning and empowerment. Together, we can foster a community where women feel informed, supported, and empowered. Together we can embrace the changes of perimenopause with resilience and grace. Come along for the ride, and let’s navigate this journey.
